How to become a member - Come to the club to meet us and have a cuppa or phone the commodore, Ken Newing, for a chat, 01248 671052 or email. We welcome absolute beginners as well as experienced racers. If you have a boat - great, bring it along. If not, then you could crew for another member or hire one of the club boats. When you are ready members will be pleased to help you in your choice of boat. The application form for membership can be downloaded. Subscription rates are here.

The club is just off the main road (A4087) in the village of Y Felinheli. From the Bangor direction, proceed down the main road (Bangor Street) turning right by Londis Convenience Shop (20M past the pelican crossing). Follow the road (Snowdon Street) down turning left at the bottom of the hill (Beach Road) Go down beach road (300M). The Club is the only building on the right hand side. The car park is next to the five a side pitch.
The Straits are strongly tidal and on springs can run up to 3.5 knots in places with a range of 5 metres. It is possible to launch and recover dinghies at all states of the tide. The club is just off the main road (A4087) in the village of Y Felinheli (formerly Port Dinorwic) which is halfway between Bangor and Caernarfon.
By sea the club is on the Menai Straits about 2 miles South West of the Britannia Road/Rail Bridge and 5 miles North East of the Caernarfon Bar entrance to the Straits. The Straits are strongly tidal and near the club the tide can run up to 3.5 knots at springs with a range of 7 metres. It is possible to launch and recover dinghies at all states of the tide.

Continuous Splicing This Document shows how to splice ends of ropes together. This is most commonly used on the Kicker, Cunningham & Outhaul so no matter which side of the boat you are on you never run out of slack to adjust the controls. Click here for pdf
